Buster Brown - 10 Newspaper pages & strips - 1909

Ten rare surviving episodes from various Sunday Comics sections taken from the New York Herald (1909), featuring episodes of Buster Brown on one each single full page. Various comics on the verso side, mainly Monkey Shines of Marseleen. Outstanding artwork! The pages were conserved between large pieces of opaque paper. - Buster Brown was created in 1902 by Richard F. Outcault. The comic strip began in the New York Herald on May 4, 1902. Outcault left for William Randolph Hearst's employ in January 1906. After a court battle, Outcault continued his strip in Hearst papers, now nameless as can be seen in the images. The Herald continued their own version of Buster Brown with other artists. The latter lasted until January 1911, and Outcault's version until May 13, 1923. The pages are in good condition, wrinkles, tears, flaking and missing pieces will occur. Will be shipped with track&trace. The lots in this auction can be shipped combined. This is taken into account up to a weight of 5 kg. If packages need to be split due to weight, an additional charge will apply. In this case, we will contact you. #specialcollectionservice
