the monastery bell or sanctuaries bell. The larger bell bears the Latin inscription "QUI ME TANGIT VOCEM MEAM AUDIT", which translates as "He who touches me hears my voice". They are often decorated with reliefs of the four evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) or their symbols. The bells are usually made of copper, bronze, or brass. Such bells are often associated with medieval monasteries in Europe, although many traded examples date from the 19th or 20th century. One bell is missing its little bell, see photos.
