A set of 16 brass weights dating to 1850–1900, in its original walnut box, French calibrated weights with royal crown marks and verification marks, total weight about 5 kg.

set of old brass weights in their original box - French calibrated weights - royal imprints (a crown) on the top of the weights - classic French verification mark - used by the departmental verifiers who depended on the weights and measures service. on the top - edge or below the individual mark confirming the authenticity and weight control.
the small red copper mark allowed adjusting the exact weight.
the handles of the weights are rounded. the densities are written in full on the heavier ones. French spelling - each piece was checked every year by the state services - these marks are also found on the scales -
the box is hollowed with cavities of different sizes and diameters to receive the weights - hand-made work.
the walnut case - a dent on the edge.
the weights and the case need cleaning - the brass is oxidized.
