Hand-carved sculpture by a master carver of Krishna and Arjuna.
Krishna and Arjuna are two of the most important figures in the Hindu epic Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita. Their relationship embodies the bond between the human soul and the divine, often described as that of teacher and student, or as the best of friends.
Height: 36 cm, weight: 1320 g, dating from the first half of the 20th century. In the arm with the wheel and lotus flower there seems to be an old crack, but otherwise in excellent condition. On the bottom there are still remnants of an old gallery seal.

Door een meestersnijder handgesneden beeld van Kresna en Arjuna. 
Kresna (Krishna) en Arjuna zijn twee van de belangrijkste figuren in het hindoeïstische epos de Mahabharata en de Bhagavad Gita. Hun relatie belichaamt de band tussen de menselijke ziel en het goddelijke, vaak omschreven als die van leraar en leerling, of als de beste vrienden.
Hoogte 36 centimeter, gewicht 1320 gram,  uit de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw. In de arm met het wiel en Lotusbloem lijkt een oud breukje te zitten, maar verder in uitstekende staat. Op de onderkant nog resten van een oud galerie zegel.
