Unique and exclusive 4 mirrors in an "Art Glass" style. This was the first set of Mucha’s decorative panels and became one of his most popular Art Nouveau series. The titles: "Printemps, L'Été, L'Automne and L'Hiver".
Alphonse Mucha created a poster series titled "The Seasons" in 1896, which became one of his most iconic works. Each image in the series portrays a woman personifying a season of the year, with details that capture the essence of each period.
1. Spring: The woman is surrounded by blooming flowers, dressed in soft pastel tones, symbolizing rebirth and nature’s renewal.
2. Summer: Generally represented with warm and bright tones, the summer woman can be seen with wildflowers and grain, symbolizing abundance and warmth.
3. Autumn: Characterized by rich earthy colors, such as reds and golds, the woman is often surrounded by fallen leaves and ripe fruits, representing harvest.
4. Winter: The figure is wrapped in heavier clothing, with a cooler color palette, such as blues and whites, surrounded by snow and bare branches, symbolizing the stillness and cold of the season.
These works reflect Mucha’s ability to combine decorative elements with human figures, creating harmonious compositions that capture the natural beauty of each season. He is known for his unique style, which strongly influenced graphic design and decorative art at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Reproductions of these works are quite popular and continue to be appreciated for their elegant and timeless style.
The frames are original and both the frames and the work are in excellent condition for their age.
