Description
A very elegant and completely preserved antique petroleum lamp (oil lamp) in classical Victorian style, dating from the period around 1890–1910. This atmospheric table lamp combines high-quality materials with refined architectural design.
The object consists of a heavy, richly decorated square base of zamak/brass alloy, adorned with classic foliate motifs. The central shaft is shaped as a Corinthian column in a warm terra/marble look. Above sits the beautiful, clear glass reservoir (font) with a deeply cut facet and geometric pattern, which beautifully refracts the light and the fuel.
The lamp is equipped with an original brass burner mechanism and is supplied including the accompanying slender glass chimney (flue).
