Binoculars - 1850-1900 - A small collection of three quality items

A small collection of three quality items: A Victorian pair of Negretti & Zambra Opera Glasses – Opticians to the Queen – c.1890 Victorian optical excellence with these elegant theatre glasses by the legendary London firm, Negretti & Zambra. Celebrated for their precision instruments and royal patronage, Negretti & Zambra produced only the highest quality glass, and these opera glasses are no exception. Featuring leather-wrapped barrels for a superior grip these glasses offer a tactile connection to the high-society evenings of 19th-century London. The eyepiece is clearly engraved with the iconic "Negretti & Zambra, London" maker's mark. The case measures 12 x 7.5 x 5.5cm. An antique silver mounted Cheroot Holder hallmarked for Birmingham 1897, presented in it's original leather case. The case measures 7.5cm (3") in length. Antique glass miniature hip flask, leather wrapped and with a silver plated cup, some light marks to the silver plate. Early 20th century. The leather is in very nice condition, the top screws on and off and there is a cork stopper inside the lid. The cup slides on and off comfortably and there is a ridge in the centre of the glass as the divider between the cup and the leather. This compact size was popular for discrete carrying and represents classic English flask design. A great example of early 20th century sophistication and craftsmanship this distinguished piece captures the essence of a bygone era when gentlemen carried such refined accessories for discrete refreshment, an essential accompaniment to any outdoor sporting pursuit. Measurements: 9.5cm tall (approximately 3.75 inches)
