Description from the seller
Rara Grande Tavola di Moda "Chic Parisien" – Atelier Bachwitz – Elegant Dresses of the Belle Époque (circa 1910-1913) – With Contemporary Frame
Fascinating and rare testimony of the golden age of Paris haute couture: a splendid original double lithographic plate (fashion figure), published in the early 1900s for the famous and exclusive international magazine Chic Parisien, edited by the prestigious Atelier Bachwitz (Vienna - Paris).
The work offers an extraordinary and highly detailed panorama of elite women's fashion in the late Edwardian and Belle Époque period (about 1910-1913). At the center of the composition, a group of elegant noblewomen and Parisian high society ladies showcase sumptuous daytime dresses finely draped, columnar slender silhouettes and the monumental, iconic wide-brimmed hats richly adorned with feathers, flowers and tulle.
The plate stands out for the extraordinary delicacy of the line and the sophisticated color palette, dominated by elegant shades of cerulean blue, antique ochre and warm grays, capable of instantly recreating that nostalgic and refined atmosphere of the “fin de siècle.” At the bottom, in an elegant Liberty/Hand-lettered typeface, appears the prestigious original mark "Chic Parisien".
The work is presented inside a beautiful and elegant vintage dark wood frame, enhanced by a gilded inner border that enhances its brightness and transforms it into a piece of absolute classy décor, perfect for professional studies, boutiques, ateliers, or gentlemanly salons.
