Beautiful Baoulé statuette from Ivory Coast. It possesses a particular strength, that of the archaic spirits of the bush. The facial expression is closed and severe. The statuette is imbued with strength and assurance; it seems rooted to the ground. The base is missing. The patina is old with traces of dried blood. The wood is oxidized. Visible cracks and flaws. See photos for more details. An inscription is visible on the back. A beautiful antique and authentic collectible piece. Circa 1960.
