Description from the seller
Important Italian modernist box in 925 sterling silver vermeil, made in Milan around the 1970s and characterized by a sculptural design of extraordinary elegance.
The object immediately stands out for its iconic organic ovoid form, almost biomorphic, enriched by a sophisticated continuous fluted technique that creates a magnificent play of light on the silver surfaces. The soft, dynamic lines recall the best Italian modernist design of the period, with an aesthetic presence that remains extremely contemporary and refined today.
The original vermeil-gilded interior adds further prestige to the piece, creating a fascinating contrast between the brightness of the sterling silver and the warm golden interior reflection. A detail of great luxury, typical of high-end Italian production intended for an international clientele.
Original Italian hallmark:
39 MI
925 Sterling
which identifies a Milanese manufacture specializing in quality silverware.
Very substantial weight:
circa 620 grams of sterling silver.
Unlike common decorative silverware, this piece possesses a strong stylistic identity and an immediate collecting presence, making it ideal both as a design object and as a decorative element for contemporary interiors, Art Deco or Mid-Century.
The condition is excellent, with minimal and physiological signs of time compatible with the age of the piece. Original gilded interior splendidly preserved.
Objects of this quality, size and aesthetic refinement are today increasingly sought after on the international market for design and Italian modernist silverware.
