Candlestick (2) - Gilt brass

Beautiful pair of brass altar candlesticks, patinated, dating to the early 20th century. They feature a shaft elegantly turned and shaped into a baluster with alternating profiles, a triangular-section base (tripod) with paw-shaped feet. The design is typical of Italian manufacture of the period, very common in the Venetian or Tuscan tradition for sacred and liturgical furnishings, but easily adaptable to be used as a support for lamps, as in this case, with an internal cavity for wiring.
