Expressive vintage ring made of 835 silver with a large rectangular ruby in octagonal step-cut. The geometric architecture of the setting and the pierced shank are typical for the Art Deco style.
The ring probably dates from the original Art Deco period of the 1920s–1930s or from the later Art Deco revival period of the 1950s–1960s.
The stone shows no visible signs of wear and has been confirmed as ruby by a gemstone tester. Rubies of this kind – both natural and synthetic – were commonly used in jewelry, especially in the Art Deco and Mid-Century periods.
