Description from the seller
This graphic masterpiece bears the autograph pencil signature of the Surrealism master, Salvador Dalí, and is officially cataloged in the reference reasoned catalogs as Field 68-6 G and Michler-Löpsinger 367. The work belongs to the famous and exclusive suite created by the artist in 1968 to illustrate the erotic novel The Venus in Furs (La Vénus aux Fourrures) by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, published in Paris by the legendary art publisher Pierre Argillet. Technical Features and RarityThe Technique: A superb original drypoint, enriched by very fine roulette interventions. The mark incised directly on the metal preserves all the visual softness and the velvety character typical of Dalí's hand. The Luxury Edition (Absolute Rarity): Unlike standard editions printed in hundreds of copies, this sheet belongs to the most valuable limited edition limited to only 25 copies in the world (print number 4/25), pressed on a special and luxurious Japanese paper (Japon na re) with an unmistakable translucent and precious texture. The Low Number: Being one of the very first pulls on the press, it benefits from a plate not yet worn by the pressure, offering a definition of details and a richness of ink clearly higher than in later editions
