Silver - Amulet - Silver Zar amulets

Two beautiful antique silver amulets from Egypt, often used as protective jewelry. The pendant features engraved Arabic calligraphy, often with Quran verses such as the 'Throne Verse' (Ayat al-Kursi, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) intended to ward off evil. These amulets are usually round, made of silver and may be decorated with filigree work, small bells, or natural beads such as coral. Similar pieces are known from the 19th and early 20th centuries. As clearly shown in the photos, the amulets no longer have all the bells. These silver amulets come from the 1930s."
