Description from the seller

To the call comes an elegant and distinctive bowl by the world-famous Danish sculptor and silversmith Just Andersen (1884–1943).
This object is an excellent example of Danish craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The bowl impresses with its striking, deeply fluted (godronated) form, reminiscent of an open flower or shell. The design perfectly embodies the transition from the neoclassical style to Danish Art Déco.
Just Andersen achieved worldwide fame for his mastery in metalworking; his works are today exhibited in major museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
• Designer/Manufacturer: Just Andersen
• Model number: 1228
• Material: Pewter
• Origin: Denmark
• Marking: Marked on the underside with the Just-Andersen triangle logo ("JUST"), "Denmark" and the model number "1228".
• Style: Art Deco / Scandinavian Design
Condition
The bowl is in an original, unrestored find state with an authentic, dark patina of age. It shows age-related signs of use and slight surface changes that emphasize the antique character of this design classic. No deep dents or cracks visible. (Please consider the photos as part of the description).
