Aletai meteorite Slice - 65 g - (1)

The Aletai meteorite is a rare and valuable iron meteorite of type IIIE-an, discovered in Xinjiang, China. Formed about 4.5 billion years ago, it is distinguished by its enormous size (several tonnes), a unique structure with a high content of iridium, and characteristic Widmanstätten patterns. Officially named in 2016, it groups together several discoveries under synonymous names, including Armanty.
