Vintage decorative sculpture of clear oriental inspiration depicting the Laughing Buddha (Hotei or Budai), a traditional symbol of prosperity, happiness, and good fortune. The figure is depicted seated in a relaxed and jovial pose, with the characteristic large exposed belly and a highly expressive and smiling face.
The work stands out for its splendid glossy silver finish of excellent quality, enhanced by elegant gold-accented details along the edges and folds of the robe, which create a refined color contrast and highlight its volumes.
The sculpture bears at its base the oval hallmark attesting to its silverworking: [ARG 925], guaranteeing the quality of the material used. The entire piece is mounted on a solid, thick circular base in lacquered wood, which provides stability and a strong visual impact to the object.
The piece is in excellent preserved condition. The silver surface retains its original shine, with very light and normal signs of cleaning and aging. No dents or deep scratches to report. The black wooden base is perfectly intact, free of chipping or fraying, with a protective felt pad on the bottom.
A collectible piece ideal for lovers of Oriental art and high-quality Italian silverware collectibles.
