Decorative tabletop planetarium sphere dating to the 20th century, made of marble, brass and Sheffield-silvered metal, in good condition with signs of age.

For sale: an enchanting small decorative desk planetarium / armillary sphere, made of marble or marble stone, brass and Sheffield-silvered metal.
The upper, rotating part is formed by brass armillary rings with decorations and engraved scales, inspired by ancient astronomical instruments. In the center is a small sphere, while the circular structure creates a scenographic effect of great charm.
The light-colored stone base supports the planetarium and features on the sides plates in Sheffield-silvered metal worked in relief, with a figurative scene of a putto in a landscape, floral motifs and architectures. The whole is very decorative and ideal for study, library, scientific collection, Wunderkammer, or classic furnishing.
The object shows normal signs of age: patina, oxidations, scratches, wear, small losses of decoration, porosity and slight chipping of the base. Defects and dimensions as in the photographs.
