AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

The proposed work is a very rare decollage, perhaps unique, by César (1921-1998), born César Baldaccini (born in France to Italian parents), known to all as César.
The great French sculptor (famous worldwide for his compressions), in 1961 joined the Nouveau Réalisme movement, befriending Mimmo Rotella, the leading exponent of decollage; perhaps from that encounter this very peculiar work sprang, measuring 183 by 175 mm, mounted in a handsome wooden frame of 43 by 37 by 4 cm. A historic work for its rarity, witness to the artistic partnership between César and Rotella.

César is an artist with international success. He has participated in the most important art Biennials, from Venice to São Paulo. His works are kept, among others, at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the French Ministry of Posts in Paris, the MAC, the Nice City Museum, the Lugano Cantonal Art Museum. The Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma awards each year the Prix César for the best French film, presenting the winner with a replica of the original work that César created for this important event.

The work, in very good condition, will be shipped well packed via Poste Italiane.
