Savonarola chair in beech wood, made in Italy (Firenze region), dating to 1950–1960, 68 cm wide by 50 cm deep and 92 cm high, folding and in good used condition with minor signs of age.

Made by Florentine artists in beech wood.
Made in the middle of the 20th century in Italy, specifically in the Tuscan region.
The Savonarola is a folding chair, foldable like a book and made up of serpentine curved elements and X-crossed intersections.
The term "Savonarola" derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452 - 1498), in whose time the chair of this type would date, still preserved in his cell at the convent of San Marco in Florence, where he lived from 1482 until his death.
In good overall condition, the chair has been recently treated against termites.
