Splendid wooden relief finely carved, depicting the profile of the Virgin Mary in a deep posture of prayer and contemplation. The work combines the mastery of Italian wood sculpture tradition with an elegant geometric presentation.
The sculpture recalls the sweet and melancholic features typical of the famous Madonnas of the Italian Renaissance (inspired by the school of Michelangelo and Leonardo), characterized by the fluid drapery of the veil and an incredible delicacy in the rendering of the face and of the hand placed on the chest.
