Montblanc model 780 stainless steel ballpoint pen from Germany, dating to the second half of the 20th century, with NOS unused condition, 12.7 cm long and 9.3 mm in diameter, in working order.
Description from the seller
MONTBLANC BALLPOINT PEN MODEL 780. ARTICLE WITH ORIGINAL LABEL. VERY RARE MODEL. UNIQUE IN NOS CONDITION.
A magnificent and very well-preserved vintage ballpoint pen from the prestigious German brand Montblanc is offered at auction. It stands out for its excellent preservation (it even retains its original factory label).
Upper body: Made in precious resin in a striking bright red color (or light burgundy). Right at the lower edge of this plastic section, a fine engraving can be seen indicating its origin of manufacture "GERMANY 780".
Lower section (tip): Features a brushed metal silver finish (matte), which elegantly contrasts with the shine of the upper body and helps a better grip while writing.
Mechanism: It is a pen with a lever-pull mechanism integrated into the clip (very characteristic of the brand’s models from the 70s and 80s). The clip is metal, with straight, minimalist lines.
In the upper crown (the push button) stands out the unmistakable brand emblem: Montblanc’s six-pointed white star on a black background.
Original label: The paper tag remains attached to the clip where it clearly reads "REF. 530".
Condition
The pen is in New Old Stock (NOS) condition, that is, a vintage item never sold commercially, evidenced by the pristine shine of the resin and the presence of its original reference label intact. It is a very interesting collectible piece for its color (red is less common than classic black or blue) and its pristine condition.
Measurements: length 12.7 cm. Diameter 9.3 mm. Weight 17 g.
