Description from the seller
Two bottles of E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc 2019 — from one of the Northern Rhône’s most celebrated and historic estates, producing wines that have defined the quality benchmark of the appellation for over three generations. Guigal’s Hermitage Blanc is a blend of 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne sourced from carefully selected parcels on the legendary granite Hill of Hermitage in Tain-l’Hermitage, aged 2 years in 50% new and 50% used French oak barrels — a serious, structured and ageworthy white Rhône of great complexity. The 2019 vintage was described by Philippe Guigal himself as “a truly great vintage in the Northern Rhône.” The wine delivers beeswax and candied orange on the nose with notes of toast and vanilla; bold, rich and weighty on the palate with fine tannins supporting its expansive texture — a white wine capable of aging 15-20 years. Rated 93/100 James Suckling — “not for the faint-hearted, a bold, rich and weighty white Hermitage but the fine tannins support this expansiveness very well.” Both bottles in perfect condition — intact labels and capsules, high fill level. Stored in a professional temperature-controlled cellar.
