Professional Description:
Elegant and refined centerpiece basket in solid 800 silver, an exemplar of Milanese artistic silversmithing from the first half of the 20th century.
The item is a historic piece certified by the original hallmarks:
Producer: Arno Fassi (Milan), identifying mark 770 MI.
Dating: Certified by the diamond-shaped stamp with the Fasces Littorio, used exclusively between 1934 and 1944.
Silver title: 800 (mark in the oval).
Artistic Characteristics:
The basket features a splendid openwork (pierced) design that mimics a stylized wicker weave. The lobed edge is richly decorated with floral motifs (roses and peonies) executed with the repousse and chasing technique. The fixed handle repeats the vine motif, giving harmony and solidity to the entire structure.
