Statue, Sedes Sapientiae - 22.8 cm - Polychrome wood

Sedes Sapientiae (Seat of Wisdom)
Mary with a book and the Christ Child.
It could also be St. Anne with the Child Mary.
Polychromed wood in which the face and hands are made of bone. The wood clearly shows signs of age with remnants of dorure (gilding).
The child’s hands are damaged.
Sometimes this was done deliberately at the death of a child.
