Beautiful publisher's full-leather binding with raised bands, titles and gilt tool on the spine.
Illustrations by Georges Tcherkessoff wood-engraved.
Copy no. 1190 (limited edition on Marais vélin, see edition justification in the photo).
Contents: Famous Stendhal short stories inspired by the 16th-century Italian chronicles (La Duchesse de Palliano, Vanina Vanini, San Francesco a Ripa, Trop de faveur tue, Suora Scolastica, etc.).
Condition: Very good overall. Bindings solid, spines intact, headcaps and corners in good condition. Interior fresh, paper very white. Some minor signs of use (corners very slightly rubbed, as visible in the photos). A beautiful presentation.
Format: octavo (In-8°).
Pagination: Volume I: approximately 250 pages; Volume II: approximately 255 pages.
