A fine hand-made German viola by Ernst Heinrich Roth, Bubenreuth/Erlangen, dated 1987. Body length approx. 40 cm. model IV-R/54, a very good orchestras instrument. Outstanding tonal qualities. Antonius Stradivarius model. Highly flamed back. French-style reddish varnish, shaded. First-grade ebony trimmings. Stricly handmade.

Bow by Alfred Knoll, same era. Selected fine quality stick, french polished, octagonal „DODD" model, very fine ebony frog, slide and back slide of pearl, without eye, winding with border, one part button.

The instrument and the bow have been little played in recent years, carefully stored and remain in excellent structural condition.

Sold with hard case.
