A vintage wall-mounted multifunction analog weather station in solid wood with a walnut dark finish, dating to 1970–1980, 82 cm high by 17 cm wide by 7 cm deep, weighing 2 kg, manufactured in West Germany, featuring a vertical capillary thermometer, a central aneroid barometer, a main analog clock and a lower hygrometer.
Description from the seller
Here is an fascinating and complete wall lottery: a vintage multifunctional analog weather station, built with a solid carved solid wood frame (dark walnut/oak finish). The slender shape, known among collectors as the “Banjo” style, combines the precision of classic mechanical instrumentation with strong decorative impact, perfect for rustic, classic, or Mid-Century settings.
Configuration of the 4 Instruments (from top to bottom):
Vertical Capillary Thermometer: Features a double scale graduated in Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), set into a light beige protective plate. Allows immediate reading of the room temperature.
Central Aneroid Barometer: The heart of the weather system. Equipped with a circular scale housed in a golden/brass metal bezel with protective glass. The dial includes the classic weather forecast indications printed in an elegant vintage italic font (Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, Very Dry). It has a black measuring hand and a golden reference hand to monitor pressure changes.
Main Analog Clock: Large circular dial with refined black Roman numerals on a light background, hands in Louis XV-style burnished, and an external minute scale (from 05 to 60). Perfect for adding a functional antique touch to the wall.
Lower Hygrometer: Small circular dial positioned at the base of the structure, dedicated to measuring the relative humidity percentage (0-100% RH).
Technical Specifications and Conditions
Materials: Solid wood frame, metal brass/bronze bezel rings for the dials, internal mechanical elements.
Origin: Typical West German manufacturing or high-quality European manufacture from the 1970s/1980s.
Approximate Dimensions: Total height 82 cm
Condition: Excellent overall vintage condition. The wood retains a beautiful natural patina, free from deep cracks or evident structural damage. The glass on the dials is intact and free from chips. The internal mechanical mechanisms for the barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer are intact. The clock requires battery installation at the back to operate as of now.
