Description from the seller
Elegant and iconic advertising poster for the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, signed by the master of illustration René Gruau.
Note: This is a later edition, probably from the 1990s.
The artwork features a stylized, dynamic, and sensual female figure, rendered with the essential, refined line work typical of Gruau, characterized by fluid brushstrokes and a masterful use of contrast between bright red, deep black, and a white background.
The title “Formidable!” underlines the spectacular, engaging atmosphere of the famous Parisian cabaret, while the dancing silhouette immediately evokes the world of the French Cancan and Montmartre nightlife.
At the bottom there is the Moulin Rouge logo and the indication “Paris”, together with the historic address of Place Blanche, an element that reinforces the graphical and advertising authenticity of the poster.
