Description from the seller
Elegant oak plant stand / side table – ca. 1910–1930, Netherlands
This refined plant stand from the early 20th century exudes a restrained charm and is a fine example of artisanal Dutch craftsmanship. Made from solid oak, the table displays a warm, dark brown color with a natural wood grain that has gained character over the years.
The slender, gently splaying legs and the subtle vertical slats give the piece an elegant and airy appearance, while the two levels provide a playful and functional layout. The top surface offers space for a plant, vase, or decorative object, while the lower shelf is ideal for smaller accessories or books.
With its modest dimensions (height 74.5 cm, width 29 cm, depth 28.5 cm) and a weight of approximately 2.2 kg, this table is easy to place and move. The style aligns with the transition from Jugendstil to early Art Deco, emphasizing simplicity, vertical lines, and artisanal details.
This plant stand looks especially handsome in a classic, country, or eclectic interior, but also adds a warm, authentic accent in a modern setting. Perfect as a plant stand, a side table next to an armchair, or a subtle pedestal for a special object.
