A comprehensive review and great reference with magnificent colour paintings covering the people, countryside and architecture and landscape of Belgium. The books gives a wonderful insight into Belgium around 1900.
The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated with frontispiece in colour, "Brussels, The Hotel de Ville." is tissue-guarded and captioned, 77 lovely internal illustration, which are tissue-guarded and captioned, and from plates by watercolours painted by Amedee Forestier. Fold-out map of Belgium and part of Holland in back of volume. Text by George W. T. Omond.
Published by Adam and Charles Black, London, 1908. Publisher’s original Black cloth with Titles and heraldic emblem in yellow to front panel and gilt with yellow to spine.

Condition:
Firm and well bound copy. External covers are clean and in nice shape, and with light wear to corners. Internally the book is in very good condition indeed. Old inscription dated 1917 with neat pencil on top first front free endpaper page. Pages are very clean with occasional light foxing on page edges. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text is fresh. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful title (Excellent Copy) (Please see pictures).
