An exquisite carved cinnabar Chinese teapot. Period: Qing Dynasty ( 1644-1911) It features intricate red lacquer carvings and gilt metal details. The teapot was crafted using a laborious process involving the application of numerous layers of red lacquer mixed with lacquer ore over a metal base, before carving intricate patterns. The teapot features detailed reliefs depicting five mythological lions on both sides, surrounded by floral decoration. Molded metal components for the handle, spout, and carved base. Dimensions: 34 cm high x 40 cm x 20 cm A truly precious collector's teapot. Condition: very good , with normal signs of use.
