Vintage Prince Piano Model III Desk Lighter (Japan, ca. 1940–1950) – Perfectly Functional

A rare post-war collectible mechanical desk lighter in the shape of a miniature frame piano, made by the renowned Japanese brand Prince.

Make and Model: PRINCE PIANO MODEL III (clearly marked on the top metal plate)

Origin: Made in Japan

Period: Late 1940s – early 1950s

Materials: Cream-colored Bakelite/plastic body with cast metal support legs and chrome-plated metal top cover decorated with fine floral engravings.

Activation Mechanism: Automatic gasoline and flint ignition, triggered by pressing the piano keys.

Special Features: The large lid is hinged and snaps open with the original stem, revealing the internal brass sheet music holder cut in the shape of a fleur-de-lis.

Condition and Function:

Aesthetics: Excellent vintage condition and complete. All original elements (Prince Piano III model plate, ornamental engravings and the internal sheet music holder) are perfectly preserved and intact. The keys show a fine natural patina, typical of their age.

Function: The mechanism is tested and fully functional. When the keys are pressed, the upper flap automatically rises and the lighter produces a stable flame. A special piece, ready for use or direct display in a top collection.
