Pineider Avatar Rollerball pen in green resin, 14 cm long with a 1.3 cm diameter, made in Italy in the late 20th century, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
The writing instrument is presented in magnificent overall preserved condition, evidencing extremely careful prior use and excellent maintenance, ideal for both daily high-end executive writing and enriching collections of contemporary Italian design where cultural tradition and the symbolism of printing go hand in hand.
The body and cap made from Pineider's famous green precious resin maintain an impeccable, clean structure, free of cracks, fissures, bites, or any deformities. When held to the light, only subtle and fine superficial manipulation marks (hairlines) derived from honest storage and use are visible, preserving an exceptional mirror-like shine that dramatically highlights the piece’s organic and fluid lines.
The rhodium-plated metal details (the iconic clip shaped like a traditional goose quill and the decorative end pieces) appear bright and in magnificent condition, with no losses of plating due to friction or signs of corrosion. The wide central cap ring stands out superbly, where the famous universal typographic pangram “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” is read with absolute clarity and with perfect relief engraving depth on its characteristic textured background.
The polished, mirror-finished metal writing section looks visually flawless, clean, and free of any residues, guaranteeing an optimal ergonomic grip and excellent mass distribution. The tip is specifically designed to house liquid ink Rollerball refills from the Florentine brand, promising extraordinary smoothness of glide and flow. The advanced magnetic closure system of the cap operates completely smoothly, firmly, and fluidly, offering an exact locking fit with a clean and secure sound.
Overall, this is an extraordinary example from one of the most intellectual, sophisticated, and traditional Italian manufacturing houses, optimally preserved in rollerball format and ready for immediate use or display in a showroom.
Conservation recommendations:
To preserve the optimal operation of this high-end piece, it is recommended to use exclusively Pineider original Rollerball refills or high-quality compatible ones. Since it is a magnetically attracted closure system, it is advisable to accompany the cap gently with the fingers until it rests in place rather than letting it strike repeatedly upon impact, thus protecting the properties of the internal magnet and the resin in the long term. To maintain the shine of the precious resin and the polished metals, avoid using alcohol or abrasive chemicals; simply wipe the surface gently with a dry microfiber cloth or slightly dampened with water to remove handling marks.
