Pineider Avatar Rollerball, a resin/polyester pen made in Italy in the late 20th century, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear, 14 cm long and 1.3 cm in diameter, in working order and compatible with liquid ink rollerball refills, with a magnetically closing cap.
Description from the seller
The writing instrument is presented in magnificent overall preserved condition, evidencing extremely careful prior use and excellent maintenance, ideal both for daily high-end executive writing and to enrich Italian contemporary design collections where cultural tradition and the symbolism of printing go hand in hand.
The body and cap manufactured in Pineider's famous brown precious resin maintain an impeccable, clean structure, without cracks, fissures, bites or any deformations. When held to the light, only subtle, fine surface marks of handling (hairlines) derived from honest storage and use are evident, preserving an exceptional mirror-like shine that boldly highlights the piece's organic and fluid lines.
The rhodium-plated metal details (the iconic clip shaped like a traditional goose feather and the decorative finials) appear bright and in magnificent condition, with no loss of plating due to friction or signs of corrosion. The wide central cap ring stands out superbly, where the famous universal pangram “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” is read with absolute clarity and with a perfectly embossed depth on its textured background.
The mirrored-polished metal writing section is visually impeccable, clean, and free of any residue, guaranteeing an optimal ergonomic grip and excellent mass distribution. The cone is specifically designed to house Pineider liquid ink rollerball refills, promising extraordinary glide and flow. The advanced magnetic cap closure system operates completely smoothly, firmly, and fluidly, offering a precise fit with a clean and secure sound.
Overall, this is an extraordinary specimen from one of the most intellectual, sophisticated, and traditional firms in Italian craftsmanship, optimally preserved in rollerball format and ready to be used immediately or displayed in a showroom.
Conservation recommendations:
To preserve the optimal operation of this high-end piece, it is recommended to use exclusively Pineider original rollerball refills or high-quality compatible ones. As this is a high-attraction magnetic closure system, softly guiding the cap with the fingers to its resting position is advised instead of letting it strike repeatedly by direct impact, thus protecting the internal magnet properties and the resin in the long term. To maintain the shine of the precious resin and the polished metals, avoid alcohol or abrasive chemical products; gently wipe the surface with a dry microfiber cloth or a cloth slightly moistened with water to remove handling marks.
