Large marble torso of a Togatus. From the period of Emperor Frederick II, King of Sicily.
This sculpture was created in the first quarter of the 13th century, during which there was a return to classical antiquity as inspiration. This piece represents the early beginnings of the Italian Renaissance.
From a private Italian collection in Rome, Italy.
The last five photos were taken there in the garden. The statue was professionally cleaned afterward.
Export license: Italy.
Exhibited at the TEFAF art fair in Maastricht in 2019.
