The mechanical pencil is presented in very good overall condition, showing careful use in keeping with its age, preserving a very attractive aesthetic and an excellent presence in hand for being one of the most sought-after pieces of the renowned Writers Edition series.

The body and cap, made of precious resin with a subtle veining that mimics noble wood — a clear homage to the material of Robinson Crusoe’s raft — maintain well-defined lines, with light surface marks typical of normal use, without dents, cracks, or deformations. The material preserves its deep polish and an excellent shine.

The front conical nib maintains an impeccable finish, with the nib tip perfectly aligned and clean to guarantee precise writing.

The factory engravings, which include the engraved signature of the author Daniel Defoe on the cap, the sharp Montblanc mark, and the unique serial number corresponding to this limited edition, are in very good condition, remaining perfectly clean, legible, and deeply etched.

As for operation, the internal mechanical propulsion mechanism has been checked and is delivered in proper working order, responding with total smoothness and precision.

The metallic elements with a sober and elegant ruthenium-gold finish, which include the iconic clip sculpted in the shape of a bird’s plume and the ornamental rings with classical filigrees from eighteenth-century bindings, are in very good condition, maintaining the original factory tension, fit, and firmness without play.

The top cap stand out for housing the famed Montblanc star emblem, which remains immaculate, crowning the piece with all its original definition.
