Original etching and aquatint by the Italian artist Luigi Bartolini (1892–1963), one of the most important printmakers of 20th-century Italy.
The work is titled “I Canottieri dell’Aniene” and depicts a river scene with a boat and figures, with figurative elements typical of Bartolini’s poetic and narrative graphics.
The print is:
• signed in pencil at the bottom right
• titled in pencil at the bottom left
• numbered 1/50 in the center
• dated 1956
Artwork executed with etching and aquatint technique, a technique favored by the artist who contributed decisively to the revival of Italian engraving in the 20th century.
Example from a limited edition of 50 copies.
Conditions
Good overall condition.
Normal signs of aging on paper and on the mat.
