Description from the seller
This edition of the "Canti" by Giacomo Leopardi has been produced in a limited print run of 975 numbered copies from 1/975 to 975/975 and seventy-five copies numbered I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV for worldwide distribution.
In addition to the original text of the thirty-six Canti and the five Fragments, the Work includes the introduction and three commentary interludes prepared by Prof. Sergio Campailla, fifteen color plates inserted out of text, and forty-one black-and-white illustrations in the text drawn from works and drawings by Maestro Ugo Riva, created specifically for this edition. The composition of the texts in monotype with Garamond 18 type and the letterpress printing were done at Monotipia Olivieri in Milan, on fine BFK Rives 100% cotton 180g paper, 45 x 34.5 cm, produced especially for this edition by Cartiere d'Arches.
The fifteen plates inserted out of text were printed using lithoserigraphic technique on BFK Rives 100% cotton 250 g paper, at the Stamperia d'Arte "L'Incisione" of Corbetta-Milan.
The graphic design was curated by Studio Moruzzi of Bologna.
The stitching, binding, and the cover of the Volume in calfskin brown-stained leather with gold inscriptions were crafted by hand using artisanal methods at Legatoria d'Arte "L'Arte del Libro" of Todi.
On the cover of the Volume is placed a specimen of "tu pensoso" by Ugo Riva, an original bas-relief, 185 x 155 mm, produced by die striking and gilded in 24k at Landi Foundry in Milan, in a limited edition of 975 copies numbered 1/975 to 975/975 and seventy-five copies numbered I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV.
Each copy of the Work "Tu pensoso" bears the number, the Author's signature, and the ART'E' seal, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance. Each Volume is numbered and signed by Master Ugo Riva.
