Description from the seller
A0000005179
The pen is in excellent overall condition, showing an impeccable aesthetic appeal and full mechanical functionality after being meticulously checked. It is a very beautiful and highly coveted example of German manufacturing Montblanc, belonging to the sophisticated and already discontinued Bohème collection in its exclusive “Lacquer Pearl” version (factory reference 36009), characterized by combining high writing craftsmanship with details typical of fine jewelry.
[ THE LACQUER BODY AND GUILLÓCHÉ ENGRAVING ]
The central body or barrel stands out for its refined manufacture, crafted on a metal base coated with a pearl-white lacquer with subtle iridescent highlights that shift tone depending on the light. The entire lacquered surface features an intricate and clean three-dimensional guilloché engraving with a pattern of waves and concentric circles perfectly executed, offering a visually striking and tactile texture. The lacquer preserves its original shine intact, free of skips, cracks, or loss of enamel, showing a smooth surface that has been meticulously cared for.
[ THE SPUR CLIP AND THE AKOYA PEARL ]
The metal and ornamental elements boast an opulent, high-bright gold plating, with a very clean mirror-like polish and wear-free friction zones. The front features the iconic curved spur clip, characteristic of the Bohème series, at whose base an Akoya natural pearl in pearly white tone is masterfully set with perfect orientation and no surface imperfections. At the apex, the piece is crowned by Montblanc’s six-point star emblem, made in white resin on a flat, polished black background.
[ MECHANICAL SECTION AND AUTHENTICITY DETAILS ]
In terms of function, the instrument operates via a precise twist-action mechanism in the upper section, which moves smoothly, firmly, and with no play for the extension and retraction of the nib. The triple gold-plated central ring features magnificent relief-engraved clarity, where the signatures “MONTBLANC” and “BOHÈME” are clearly legible. Likewise, the reverse of the clip preserves, in pristine condition, the laser-engraved individual serial number and the “GERMANY” provenance inscription that bolster the piece’s authenticity.
[ OVERALL LOT ASSESSMENT ]
Overall, this is a high-end contemporary design piece in very good condition, which breaks with the sobriety of black resin to offer an aristocratic aesthetic with high collectible value. It remains an excellent writing instrument or a solid investment due to its status as a discontinued boutique model, which elevates its interest in the luxury secondary market.
[ PRESERVATION RECOMMENDATIONS ]
To ensure long-term optimal maintenance of the piece, it is recommended to wipe the pearl lacquer surface and the gold-plated elements with a dry microfiber cloth after handling to avoid grease or fingerprints buildup. It is advised to use only original Montblanc refills to guarantee the smooth operation of the internal screw mechanism and to store the pen in its case when transporting to prevent metal-to-metal contact with other objects.
[ SHIPPING AND PACKAGING DETAILS ]
The lot will be properly protected in its original Bohème presentation rigid case with a black satin interior, accompanied by its corresponding printed “Service Guide” insert and the outer black textured carton slip case that retains its factory label with the matching reference code 36009.
