Description from the seller

Table lamp inspired by the Dragonfly model designed by Clara Driscoll in the Tiffany Studios workshops around 1900, here offered in a monochrome amber palette that highlights the warmth of the opalescent glass. The dragonfly, the signature motif of New York Art Nouveau repertoire, encircles the bottom of the dome in a continuous frieze.
The lampshade is assembled using the copper foil technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, each piece of glass being surrounded by an adhesive copper tape before pewter is soldered. The piece gathers nearly 210 hand-cut, hand-soldered opalescent glass pieces, punctuated by raised cabochons in ruby, amber, emerald, and sapphire tones scattered on the cap.
The composition unfolds on an amber background with variations of honeyed yellow, golden, and light orange, treated in the Favrile spirit for its warm material play. The upper crown consists of a frieze of triangles in clear glass evoking the rays of a newborn sun. At the lower register, four dragonflies in flight unfold their wings in golden textured glass with a delicate speckling evoking the venation of the elytra, their fusiform bodies set with translucent lavender-blue glass. The cabochons scattered in the dome represent the dewdrops dear to the Tiffany repertoire.
The base is made of patinated zinc alloy in antique bronze, tapered into an outward-curling corolla at the base and shaped into a slender column topped with a swan neck. The dark patina recalls the original bronzes of the Tiffany Studios and echoes the setting of the lampshade.
