Boutique iron forged mirror with a Roses model in Art Nouveau style, made in France, dating to 1940–1950, pink, external 76 cm high by 45 cm wide, internal 40 × 40 cm, in good used condition with minor age-related signs and imperfections, featuring a original bevelled Murano glass mirror.
Description from the seller
A boutique forged-iron mirror, conceived in the mid-twentieth century, it preserves its original thick, beveled Murano glass intact—heavy, substantial, and with that slightly milky, watery sheen so characteristic of hand-worked glass. The piece blends the strength of metal with the floral delicacy of Art Nouveau, reinterpreted here in an era-decorative key: an elegant oval, surrounded by a softly undulating metal frame crowned by hand-modeled roses, placed at the four cardinal points as if guarding the reflection.
The iron, shaped with organic curves and a finish aiming for the softness of a vegetal stroke, dialogues with the beveled crystal, which adds depth and a warm sparkle when light refracts along its edges. The ensemble conveys that hallmark mix of late Art Nouveau: stylized nature, careful craftsmanship, and an intimate sense of everyday beauty. This is not just any functional mirror—it is an object meant to dress a space, to bring presence, romance, and a touch of European atelier.
The patina of the frame, the shaping of the flowers, and the quality of the glass clearly situate it within mid-century artisanal production, when many workshops revisited the modernist language for boutique pieces, blending tradition with contemporary taste. It is a mirror that reflects, but also decorates, softens, and beautifies a room, with that discreet elegance only well-made objects possess.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
