Rare 17th-Century Tin Spoon - Charles Yardley, London c. 1630
Unique and historic collectible: An authentic early 17th-century tin spoon (Puritan spoon) with a characteristic rounded bowl and hexagonal shaft. This lot is of exceptional quality due to the very sharp and rare caster's mark.
Specifications & Features
Maker: Charles Yardley (active ca. 1620–1640)
Origin: London, England (historically traded/found in Western Europe)
Dating: Circa 1625 – 1640 (Early Baroque / Puritan period)
Material: Quality tin
Tinmark / Hallmark: Exceptionally clearly struck mark in the bowl. Shows the crowned shield with the St. George’s cross (London), flanked by the initials C and Y.
Condition: Stunning, authentic condition with a deep, historic patina.
Details: The spoon is upright and the shaft is completely intact. No major restorations or fractures. The metal surface has remained beautifully preserved (see close-up photos for your own impression).
