Two antique Dayak ritual boxes from Indonesia; the smaller oval box is made of wood, tree bark and woven rattan and was used by Dayak shamans to store medicinal herbs, magical objects and ritual tools, measuring 17 × 8 × 10 cm and in good condition, while the larger box is woven reed with a wooden top panel bearing a monkey motif, measuring 18 × 13 × 7 cm and from Lombok, Indonesia, in excellent condition.

Two old boxes:
1. The smaller 'box' is an antique Dayak shaman box from Borneo, made of wood, tree bark, and pieces of woven rattan. These oval boxes were traditionally used by shamans (manang) to store and transport medicinal herbs, magical objects, and other tools for rituals and healing. In good condition: see photos. 17 x 8 cm, 10 cm high.
2. The larger box is of woven reed, with a wooden panel on the top bearing a kind of monkey. 18 x 13 cm, 7 cm high. From Lombok, Indonesia. Excellent condition
This lot will be carefully packaged and insured for shipment with track and trace.
