Antique, low-silver content torque necklace from Nuristan, Afghanistan. The main design of the center is a spiral spring using only one big metal thread. A second twisted silver thread runs through the spiral, setting this necklace apart from others. '

Collected in the early 1970’s this example is most likely from the early 1930's. It was part of an extensive collection of Afghan jewelry

The necklace shows signs of wear and has not been fully cleaned to keep it in original state.
