Original poster May ’68 - Atelier Populaire Marseille

Poster May ’68 / Marseille - Atelier Populaire

Description :

Authentic militant poster from the era, stemming from the May ’68 events (or immediately after May ’68, dated Thursday, January 16), produced by the Atelier Populaire of Marseille.

A superb historical testimony of the workers’ and students’ struggles in Marseille, here targeting the Marseille railway construction company Coder.

Main slogan : « LA "PARTICIPATION" COMMENCE À CODER » / « Arrêtons l'engrenage »

Visual : Gears symbolizing the managerial repression faced by action committees.

Origin : Stamped with the famous « Atelier Populaire Marseille » mark at the bottom left.

Mentions : Comité d'action Étudiants-Travailleurs. Réunion d'information au Bar de l'Industrie.

Specifications :

Dimensions : 86 cm x 52 cm

Technique : Hand-pulled artisanal silkscreen from the period.

Condition : Good vintage condition for its age. Presence of period creases (the poster was folded into quarters), a few light handling marks that attest to its authenticity (see photos). Ideal for framing.

Rare piece, perfect for a collector of political history, 20th-century graphic design, or for bold vintage/industrial decor.
