Description from the seller

Elegant terracotta hollow female bust patinated "Réverie" – Liberty style, early 1900s
Fascinating Art Nouveau-era sculpture depicting a young woman with her head gently tilted and hair swept by the wind, entitled "Réverie" (Daydream with eyes open), inscription engraved directly on the base.
The work is made in hollow terracotta, finished on the surface with a refined cold patination that imitates bronze casting, an outstanding artistic technique highly popular in the early twentieth century for furnishing the upper middle class.
On the back is present the original factory mark pressed cold into the clay before firing: an oval seal.
Condition: The sculpture presents good structural condition, solid and intact. It shows fascinating and genuine signs of time: there are small superficial chips on the dark patination (visible on the chest, in the hair and along the lower edge of the base) that reveal the terracotta’s brick color beneath. Such details only confirm the absolute authenticity and the piece’s era.
A piece of furnishings with great atmosphere, perfect for collectors of Liberty and Art Nouveau sculptures.
