Antoni Tàpies (1923-2012) – Sala Gaspar, Barcelona, December 1971 – Original exhibition poster
Original-era poster made for the Antoni Tàpies exhibition held at Barcelona's historic Sala Gaspar in December 1971.
The composition reproduces a characteristic work by the artist, one of the leading figures of European informalism and one of the most influential figures in Spanish contemporary art of the 20th century. The image shows the gestural, material force typical of Tàpies, with a combination of energetic strokes, graphic signs, and a color palette dominated by blacks, yellows, and reddish tones.
Sala Gaspar played a fundamental role in the diffusion of avant-garde art in Barcelona, making this poster an interesting historical document as well as an attractive collectible piece.
