Description from the seller

Cigar box / Humidor for cigars, Hermes clasp, 1960s - France
Typology: Box or humidor for tobacco
Materials: Root wood veneer, marquetry, bronze, pumice stone
Period: 1960s
Country: France
Good condition for its age and use
Dimensions: 15 x 35 x 25 cm.

Magnificent tobacco box or cigar humidor made in wood covered with root wood veneer, with a marquetery ship on the top lid and a metallic Hermès logo inside.
The piece stands out for its exquisite root wood veneer, featuring a complex and organic grain. On the top lid, a central medallion houses the delicate marquetry figure of a ship crafted with woods of different tones. The interior is spacious, where a small metallic Hermès logo is fixed in the lower left corner of the lid, an indisputable mark of the brand’s distinction, placed there because this piece belonged to a shareholder of the French house.
The piece retains its original humidification system, consisting of a perforated bronze support containing a block of pumice stone. This method allowed maintaining a constant, natural humidity level for tobacco preservation.
The side handles, corner appliqués, and double lock with original key are made of bronze.

The shipment of the product will be paid by the buyer according to the dimensions, weight, and destination. We will contact you to manage it and agree on the budget. The shipping costs include professional custom packaging; and the personalized shipping, with tracking number and warranty. The buyer will be responsible for paying import duties and any associated taxes in the destination country, if any. Please note the seller’s disclaimer regarding possible customs charges, as these are levied in the destination country and the amount to be paid is determined by the customs authority of that country.
