Cette statuette fait partie d'un ensemble de quatre figurines funéraires en pierre attribuées à l’aire culturelle Bakongo (Bas-Congo).
Sculptées dans une pierre tendre à la belle patine ancienne, ces représentations anthropomorphes se distinguent par leurs attitudes variées, leurs visages expressifs et leur caractère profondément évocateur. 
Destinées à l’origine au contexte commémoratif et funéraire, elles témoignent des traditions artistiques et spirituelles de la région.
Attention, la pièce est vendue seule, pas en lot.


Je vous propose un ensemble original d’objets ethnographiques d’époque coloniale rapportés du Congo/Zaïre par un ingénieur belge ayant sillonné le pays dans le cadre de ses activités.

La collection se compose de figurines sculptées en bois et en pierre, de masques ainsi que de divers objets usuels et de représentation issus des cultures locales. 

Cet ensemble varié illustre la richesse des savoir-faire artisanaux et des traditions matérielles d’Afrique centrale à une période marquante de son histoire.

Réuni au fil du temps, ce lot présente un intérêt certain tant pour les collectionneurs d’ethnographie africaine que pour les amateurs d’objets anciens et de témoignages historiques.
